At 15:11 of the third, Des Moines re-took the lead.

Farrell tallied his second point of the night after tipping Case McCarthy’s (Clarence Center, N.Y.) shot in front of the net to tied the game at two at 16:57 of the third period. Domenick Fensore (Thornwood, N.Y.) also picked up an assist on the play.

At the :30 mark of overtime Caufield sealed the 3-2 win for the U17s. He sent the puck into the open net on a one-timer on a pass from Fensore.

Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.) made 33 saves in the win.

The U17s are back in action next Friday (Jan. 12) when they travel to play the Central Illinois Flying Aces.
