The U17s fell to the Central Illinois Flying Aces on Friday (Oct. 20) by a 7-3 final. Brett Berard (E. Greenwich, R.I.) opened scoring for Team USA in the second period with assists from Thomas Bordeleau (Houston, Texas) and Dylan Peterson (Roseville, Calif.).  Ty Smilanic (Elizabeth, Colo.) netted Team USA's second goal of the game as Landon Slaggert (South Bend, Ind.) and Owen Gallatin (Hugo, Minn.) picked up assists. Tanner Latsch (Twin Lake, Mich.) scored the third goal for the U17s, but the third-period effort was not enough to rally a comeback. Noah Grannan (Germantown, Wis.) stopped 35 of 42 shots in net for the U17s.

The U17s dropped their second game at Grossinger Motors Arena against the Flying Aces on Saturday (Oct. 20) in a 3-1 loss. Smilanic scored the U17s' lone goal in the first period, marking his sixth of the season, with assists from Slaggert and Matthew Beniers (Hingham, Mass.). Goaltender Drew Commesso (Norwell, Mass.) stopped 40 shots in the U17s' contest against the Flying Aces.
