MUSKEGON, Mich. - The U.S. National Under-17 Team was clipped by the Muskegon Lumberjacks, 2-1, at the L.C. Walker Arena on Dec. 1, 2012.

After a scoreless first, the Lumberjacks opened scoring at 9:16 of the middle frame. Team USA put 10 shots on net in the period, but could not solve netminder Kevin Lindskoug.

Muskegon doubled its lead at 1:01 of the third stanza. The U.S. struck back on the power play to cut the lead in half, 2-1. Ryan MacInnis (St. Louis, Mo.) took a pass from Brandon Fortunato (North Hills, N.Y.) and buried it into the net at 12:52. Down one goal with time expiring, Team USA pulled its goaltender in favor of the extra attacker, but the gamble did not pay off.

Edwin Minney (Wind Gap, Pa.) stopped 40 of 42 shots in the loss for the Under-17 Team, while Lindskoug made 17 saves for the Lumberjacks in the win.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team travels to Nebraska next weekend (Dec. 7-8) to take on the Omaha Lancers and Tri-City Storm on back-to-back nights. Puck drop is schedule for 8:05 p.m. EST and 4:05 p.m. EST respectively.
