Dennis MacDonald enters his 10th season as athletic trainer with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and will work with the U.S. National Under-17 Team for the 2024-25 season.
MacDonald served on the U.S. staff at the 2022 and 2024 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championships, where Team USA captured silver medals. He also fulfilled athletic trainer duties for the 2017 silver medal-winning and the bronze medal-winning 2016 U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Teams.
Additionally, MacDonald was on staff for the 2023 World Under-17 Challenge where the U.S. finished first.
Prior to joining the NTDP, MacDonald served on the Plymouth Whalers staff for 17 seasons. His tenure in Plymouth included work as athletic trainer and equipment manager, while also handling team logistics.
A Detroit native, MacDonald graduated in 1995 from Wayne State University with a degree in exercise science.
