PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Cam York (Anaheim Hills, Calif.) delivered an NTDP record seven points, while Jack Hughes (Orlando Fla.) and Cole Caufield (Stevens Point, Wis.) continued to climb the NTDP history books as the U.S. National Under-18 Team cruised past the Youngstown Phantoms by an 11-3 final Tuesday night at USA Hockey Arena.

The win marked Team USA’s first 11-goal effort since an 11-3 victory over the Lincoln Stars on March 20, 2015.

York, who netted the second hat trick of the season for the U18s as part of his offensive display, opened scoring when he glided in from his own blue line and found the back of the net with a wraparound.

The future Michigan defenseman later added his second of the contest on a delayed penalty call after Team USA held the puck in the offensive zone for 1 minute, 9 seconds. His third represented the 11th goal of the game.

Hughes, meanwhile, collected an assist on York’s second goal of the game and another on Caufield’s late tally to pass current Arizona Coyotes forward Clayton Keller (2014-16) for second on the NTDP’s all-time career assists leaderboard with 119.

Jeremy Bracco (2013-15) owns the top spot with 122 assists across his two years with the NTDP.

Caufield’s lone goal of the contest, his team-leading 31st of the season, represented his 85th career goal. He now sits second on the NTDP’s all-time goals list after he passed Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane on the leaderboard.

Phil Kessel (2003-05) holds the all-time NTDP goals record with 104 throughout his tenure with the NTDP.

The U18s outshot the Phantoms by a 19-3 margin in the second frame to take control of the game and used a seven-goal outburst in the third period to seal the win.

Drew Helleson (Farmington, Minn.), Alex Turcotte (Island Lake, Ill.) and Domenick Fensore (Thornwood, N.Y.) all scored within a span of 5 minutes, 34 seconds to extend Team USA’s lead to 8-3.

Late goals from Caufield, York and Danny Weight (Lattingtown, N.Y.) put the game further out of reach.

Cameron Rowe (Wilmette, Ill.) stopped 16 shots to earn his 11th victory of the season.

The U18s return to action Jan. 25 when they take on the Central Illinois Flying Aces. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET at USA Hockey Arena. Tickets are available at USAHockeyNTDP.com/Tix.
