NEW HOPE, Minn. — Thomas Bordeleau (Houston, Texas) recorded a pair of points to pace the U.S. National Under-17 Team in a 4-3 road exhibition win over Minnesota Elite League North on Saturday afternoon in New Hope, Minnesota.

Bordeleau, who erased a 1-0 deficit for Team USA at the time, put the U17s on the board after he found a soft spot in the slot and buried a centering feed from Owen Gallatin (Hugo, Minn.).

Landon Slaggert (South Bend, Ind.) gave the U17s the early the second period when he lifted a shot from the left circle. Daniel Laatsch (Altoona, Wis.) extended the lead to 3-1 moments later on a strong cross-ice feed from Bordeleau. Dylan Peterson (Roseville, Calif.) provided the eventual game-winning goal.

Minnesota Elite League North staged a second-period comeback to cut the U17s’ lead to one, but Team USA goaltender Drew Commesso (Norwell, Mass.) fought off 18 of 21 shots to preserve the win.

The U17s will conclude its exhibition slate Sunday (Oct. 14) to face Minnesota Elite League Southwest. Puck drop is set for 12:30 p.m. EST and the game will be broadcast via WatchingPuck.com.

Team USA makes its return to USA Hockey Arena on Oct. 26 when they take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks in USHL play.
