24 NTDP Players Named To the NHL Central Scouting’s "Players to Watch" List For The 2019 NHL Entry Draft

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Twenty players currently on the U.S. National Under-18 Team roster and four alums of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program were named to the NHL Central Scouting’s list of “players to watch” for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Players listed as “A” skaters who are probable to go in the first round of the draft are forwards Matthew Boldy (Millis, Mass.), Cole Caufield (Stevens Point, Wis.), Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla.), Alex Turcotte (Island Lake, Ill.) and Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y.), defensemen Alex Vlasic (Wilmette, Ill.) and Cam York (Anaheim Hills, Calif.) and goaltender Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.)

Skaters tabbed as “B” skaters, likely to go in the 2nd or 3rd round, are forwards John Beecher(Elmira, N.Y.), defenseman Marshall Warren (Laurel Hollow, N.Y.) and goaltender Cameron Rowe(Wilmette, Ill.).

Forwards Judd Caulfield (Grand Forks, N.D.), Michael Gildon (Plano, Texas), Owen Lindmark(Naperville, Ill.), Patrick Moynihan (Millis, Mass.) and Danny Weight (Lattingtown, N.Y.) and defensemen Domenick Fensore (Thornwood, N.Y.), Drew Helleson (Farmington, Minn.), Case McCarthy (Clarence Center, N.Y.) and Henry Thrun (Southborough, Mass.) were all listed as “C” skaters and probable 4th, 5th, or 6th round picks. 

NTDP alums, Patrick Giles (Boston College/2016-18), Adam Samuelsson (Boston College /2016-18), Trevor Janicke (Central Illinois Flying Aces/2016-18) and Keegan Karki (Muskegon Lumberjacks/ 2016-17) were also listed as “C” rated prospects.

In addition, two other current NTDP players, including forwards Sean Farrell (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.), are not eligible for the 2019 NHL Draft as they are too young.  Farrell and Rolston are eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft.

In addition, 65 players, including the 24 from Team USA, with USHL ties were named to the list, which marks the most of any junior league in the world. To view the list of players with USHL ties, click here.

The 2019 NHL Draft will be held June 21–22, 2019 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C.
