The U.S. National Team Development Program advanced to the Eastern Conference Final Friday night after defeating the Chicago Steel on the road in a pair of overtime wins. Thursday night, the U17s won, 3-2, on Danny Weight’s (Lattingtown, N.Y.) winner. On Friday night, the U17s advanced when Alex Vlasic (Wilmette, Ill.) ended the game in overtime and won it, 4-3.
The U17s are now 41-16-0-0 on the season.
The U17s continue to set new Team USA records with their performance. While Team USA made the USHL playoffs two previous times, this is the furthest they ever been in the USHL playoffs.
Overall Record: U17: 41-16-0-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL)
Team USA USHL Record: 44-19-0-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) with 83 PTS in 58 GP, 1st place in the the Eastern Conference.
