Beecher Nets OT-Winner; U17s Down Dubuque, 5-4

Beecher and Lindmark Net Two in Win

The U.S. National Under-17 Team defeated the Dubuque Fighting Saints, 5-4 in overtime Saturday night at Mystique Ice Center.

Sean Farrell (Hopkinton, Mass.) opened scoring for the U.S. National Under-17 Team at 11:32 of the first period.

Dubuque tied the game at one at 16:04.

Dubuque took a 2-1 lead at 4:32 before Owen Lindmark (Naperville, Ill.) tied it at 10:11.

Lindmark netted his second of the game on the backhand at 2:27. Drew Helleson (Farmington, Minn.) added the lone assist.

After Dubuque tied the game 3-3, Domenick Fensore (Thornwood, N.Y.) sent the puck to the net from the left point where John Beecher (Elmira, N.Y.) tipped it past Dubuque’s goaltender. 

The Fighting Saints tied the game once again at 13:06 of the third.

Beecher netted his second of the game to win it, 5-4 for the U17s.

Cameron Rowe (Wilmette, Ill.) made 26 saves.

The U17s are back in action at 10 a.m. ET at Youngstown for its final road trip of the regular season.
