U17s Top Flying Aces, 4-2

Boldy tallies two points in win

The U.S. National Under-17 Team topped the Central Illinois Flying Aces tonight, 4-2.

After a scoreless first period Owen Lindmark  (Naperville, Ill.) opened scoring at 2:42 of the second period.

Lindmark pushed the puck into the back of the net from the left side with traffic in front. John Farinacci  (Chatham, N.J.) and Erik Middendorf  (Scottsdale, Ariz.) had the helpers on the goal.

The Flying Aces tied the game, 1-1 at the 16:27 mark of the second.

Box Score

The Flying Aces took a 2-1 lead at 7:09 of the third.

Michael Gildon (Plano, Texas) tied the game 2-2 at 11:23 of the third period sending the puck in from the left circle.

Henry Thrun  (Southborough, Mass.) made it 3-2 at 12:39 of the third. He sent the puck past Zach Stejskal from the far side of the left circle.

Matthew Boldy (Millis, Mass.) sealed the game with an empty-netter with help from Middendorf.

Drew DeRidder (Fenton, Mich.) tallied 21 saves in the game. The Flying Aces’ Zach Stejskal made 13 saves.

The U17s finish the weekend tomorrow against the Chicago Steel at 4:05 p.m. ET.
