U17s Fall to Black Hawks, 6-1

The U.S. National Under-17 Team fell to the Waterloo Black Hawks tonight, 6-1 at Young Arena.

Waterloo netted two in the first period including one just 23 seconds into the game.

They added two more in the second to lead, 4-0 after 40 minutes.

John Beecher (Elmira, N.Y.) sent the puck to the net where Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.) pushed it past Waterloo’s netminder at the 9:16 mark of the third period. Michael Gildon (Plano, Texas) also picked up an assist on the goal.

The Black Hawks netted two more in the final frame to seal the game, 6-1.

Cameron Rowe (Wilmette, Ill.) and Josh Graziano (Williamsville, N.Y.) combined for 37 saves in the loss.

The U17s are set for a rematch tomorrow night with the Black Hawks at 8 p.m. ET at Young Arena.
