U18s Fall to Muskegon, 6-3

The U.S. National Under-18 Team fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks in USHL play today, 6-3.

Muskegon came out strong early netting its first goal at the 1:15 mark. The Lumberjacks added three power play goals in the first to head into the first intermission up, 4-0.

Muskegon netted its fifth goal at 12:11 of the second period before Jack DeBoer (Madison, N.J.) put the U18s on the board. He tipped Bode Wilde’s (Birmingham, Mich.) shot from the point into the back of the Muskegon net on the power play.

Skater Leaders

Muskegon added one at 11:26 of the third period to go up 6-1.

Spencer Stastney (Mequon, Wis.) netted the puck from the slot at 14:05 of the third period, with help from Slava Demin (Cypress, Calif.) and Tyler Weiss (Raleigh, N.C.).

Ty Emberson (Eau Claire, Wis.) put the puck behind Muskegon's goaltender, Keegan Karki, at 18:01 of the third period for a final score of 6-3. 

Drew DeRidder (Fenton, Mich.) and Jonathan Mor (Highland Park, Ill.) combined for 17 saves for Team USA.
