U17s Fall to Youngstown, 2-0

The U.S National Under-17 Team fell, 2-0 Friday to the Youngstown Phantoms.

Both teams were held scoreless in the first period.

Youngstown’s Chase Gresock opened the scoring at the 11:10 mark of the second period.

Youngstown’s Max Ellis added a second goal at 11:00 of the third, to put the Phantoms up, 2-0.

Team USA’s Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.) tallied 30 saves while Youngstown’s Wouter Peeters made 24 saves.

The U17s are back in action Monday, Dec. 11, at the Under-17 Four Nations Tournament in Veliky Novgorod, Russia as they take on Russia in a pre-tournament match-up at 8:30 a.m. ET.
