U17s Fall to Sioux Falls, 6-3

The U.S. National Under-17 Team fell, 6-3 Friday night in Sioux Falls to the Stampede.

Danny Weight (Lattington, N.Y.) opened the scoring at the 4:04 mark of the first period. Marshall Warren (Laurel Hollow, N.Y.) picked the assist on the goal.

The Stampede netted three in a row before Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.) netted Team USA’s second goal of the game. After Domenick Fensore (Thornwood, N.Y.) shot the puck from the right circle, Rolston cleaned up the rebound to make it 3-2. Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla.) also picked up an assist on the goal.

Skater Leaders

Sioux Falls added two more goals before the third period.

Alex Turcotte (Island Lake, Ill.) sent a wrister from the left circle to pull theU17s within two at the 7:28 mark of the third period. Warren and Drew Helleson (Farmington, Minn.) tallied assists on the goals.

Sioux Falls added an empty net goal for a final score of 6-3.

Team USA’s Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.) tallied 22 saves while Sioux Falls’ Jaxson Stauber made 35 saves.

The U17s are back on the road tomorrow, Saturday Nov. 25, at Omaha as they take on the Lancers at 8:05 p.m. ET.
