U17s Shut Out by Youngstown, 3-0

The U.S. National Under-17 Team and Youngstown Phantoms each put 22 shots on goal but Team USA fell, 3-0, here tonight at the Covelli Centre in its final game of the 2016-17 campaign.

Alex Esposito gave the Phantoms a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded marker at 6:21 of the opening period.

Youngstown's Pierce Crawford doubled the lead with just 53 seconds remaining in the middle frame before Nicolas Werbik made it 3-0 at 2:17 of the third period.

Anthony Yamnitsky (North Royalton, Ohio) made 19 saves in net for Team USA.
