U17s Edged by Sioux City in 2-1 Loss

Karki Stops 48 Shots; Goldowski Scores U.S. Goal

The U.S. National Under-17 Team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Sioux City Musketeers here tonight at the Tyson Events Center. Goaltender Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) made 48 stops in the loss.

The Musketeers opened the scoring at 11:45 of the first period with a marker by Eeli Tolvanen. Less than a minute later, Solag Bakich extended Sioux City's lead to 2-0.

At 8:59 of the second frame, Jake Goldowski (Thornhurst, Pa.) forced a turnover at the U.S. blue line, carried the puck down the ice and rocketed a shot past goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks for the score.

Neither team converted in the third, and the game closed at 2-1.

The two teams clash again at 8:05 p.m. ET tomorrow (Saturday). The game will be streamed live on HockeyTV.com.
