Evan Barratt (Bristol, Pa.), Grant Mismash (Edina, Minn.) and Brady Tkachuk (St. Louis, Mo.) tallied for the U.S. National Under-18 Team in their 6-3 loss to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Friday Night at Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
The U18s gained the early lead with first period tallies by Tkachuk and Mismash.
Cedar Rapids responded in the second period with three goals to take a 3-2 lead into the start of the final frame.
Cedar Rapids added a power play goal and empty net goal late in the third period before Mismash added the final Team USA goal of the night on the power play. Tkachuk picked up his second point on the night on the play.
Cedar Rapids added one more empty net goal to bring the game to its final score of 6-3.
Other U18s to record points were Quinn Hughes (Orlando, Fla.), Randy Hernandez (Miami, Fla.) and Max Gildon (Plano, Texas).
Dylan St. Cyr (Northville, Mich.) made 25 saves on the night while Cedar Rapids goaltender Drew DeRidderer made 37 saves on 40 Team USA shots.
The U.S. National Under-18 Team is back in action tomorrow when they travel to Chicago to take on the Steel at 8:05 p.m. ET.
