Five Different Players Score; U18s Defeat Madison, 5-2

The U.S. National Under-18 Team earned their third straight victory in a 4-2 win against Madison on Friday night at Alliant Energy Center. 

Evan Baratt (Bristol, Pa.) got Team USA on the board early in the first period when he took a feed from Tommy Miller (West Bloomfield, Mich.) at the 1:38 mark. Logan Cockerill (Brighton, Mich.) also picked up an assist on the play.

Following a Capitols goal, Josh Maniscalco (Perkiomenville, Pa.) broke the tie midway through the first period when he netted his second goal of the season. Jacob Torotra (Victor, N.Y.) assisted on the play.

The U18s tallied three goals in the third period following a Madison goal in the second stanza. 

Tortora picked up his second point of the night when he broke the tie and scored the eventual game-winner at the 1:20 mark of the first period off a feed from Brady Tkachuk (St. Louis, Mo.).

Josh Norris (Oxford, Mich.) extended the lead on the power play at the 7:42 mark of the third period. Defensemen Quinn Hughes (Orlando, Fla.) and Phil Kemp (Greenwich, Conn.) picked up assists on the power play goal.

Scott Reedy (Prior Lake, Minn.) added an empty netter in the final minute of the game to seal the victory for Team USA. Tkachuk added his second point of the night on the feed to Reedy. 

Adam Scheel (Lakewood, Ohio) made 20 saves to pick up his second USHL victory of the season. 

Team USA outshot Madison 31-22. 

The U18s finish their series with the Capitols tomorrow at 8:05 p.m. ET at Alliant Energy Center. The game will be streamed on HockeyTV.com.
