U18s Defeated by Michigan State, 5-1

The U.S. National Under-18 Team fell to the Michigan State University Spartans, 5-1, here today at Munn Arena in East Lansing, Michigan.

Michigan State started the scoring early when Thomas Ebbing put in a loose puck past Dylan St. Cyr (Northville, Mich.) at the 5:04 mark of the first period.

Joey Cassetti (Pleasanton, Calif.) scored the lone goal for the U18s at 6:47 of the first, sending the puck into the top shelf out of the reach of MSU goaltender John Lethemon.

MSU’s Damian Chrcek regained the lead for the Spartans at the 11:21 mark with a shot that trickled in past St. Cyr.

The Spartans carried their momentum into the second period, adding two more goals. Michigan State added another at 2:42 of the third to finish the game, 5-1.  

The U.S. National Under-18 Team will return to United States Hockey League action against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday (Dec. 8) at USA Hockey Arena.
