The U.S. National Under-18 Team fell to the Chicago Steel, 4-1, here tonight at USA Hockey Arena.

The U18s and Steel battled to a scoreless first period despite multiple scoring opportunities on both ends. Brady Tkachuk (St. Louis, Mo.) had the best chance of the period for the U18s with just more than 11 minutes left after a lead pass from goaltender Adam Scheel (Lakewood, Ohio).

Chicago nearly converted off a turnover after being held without a shot on goal in the opening eight minutes, but couldn't capitalize.

The Steel took the lead early in the second period on a shot by Adam Karashik from just inside the blue line.

Tyler Inamoto (Barrington, Ill.) tied the game with 1:04 left to play in the second period when he tapped in an cross-crease pass from Evan Barratt (Bristol, Pa.).

Jack Badini regained the lead for the Steel at the 5:43 mark of the third period. The Steel quickly added two more goals to take a 4-1 lead.

Scheel ended the night with 19 saves while Chicago goaltender Ales Stezka finished with 30 saves.

The U18s travel to East Lansing, Michigan, tomorrow (Dec. 4) to take on the Michigan State University Spartans at 3 p.m. ET.
