The U18s and U17s prepare for a five game schedule this week that kicks off with a Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday, Nov. 3) matchup between the U18s and Muskegon.

LEVELING THE LUMBERJACKS: The Lumberjacks come into Wednesday's 7 p.m. ET matchup with the U18s at USA Hockey Arena at 12-7-0-0, good for second place in the Eastern Conference of the United States Hockey League. Muskegon leads the USHL in goals scored (63). New York Islanders draft selection Collin Adams (13 goals, 9 assists) is second in the USHL in scoring, while Andrei Svechnikov (8-9-17) – the younger brother of Detroit Red Wings draft choice Evgeni Svechinov – is a player to watch. Veteran Bo Hanson leads all USHL defensemen in scoring with two goals and 15 assists in 19 games. Keith Petruzzelli (2.06 goals against, .929 save percentage) has led the ‘Jacks between the pipes. NTDP alumni Keeghan Howdeshell (2-3-5 in 12 games) and Keenan Suthers (4-4-8 in 19 games) have also contributed to the offense so far this season.

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND WRAP AROUND: The U18s remain home this weekend, hosting the University of St. Thomas at 7 p.m. ET Saturday and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 2 p.m. ET Sunday.

The University of St. Thomas is based in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is making its first-ever trip to USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth. The Tommies play out of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and are currently 3-2-1 overall on the season. The University of St. Thomas plays a home-and-home series Nov. 18-19 against Bethel University (St. Paul, Minn.) before coming to USA Hockey Arena.

Senior forward Michael Dockry leads the Tommies in scoring with two goals and four assists in six games, followed by sophomore forward Cullen Willox (3-2-5) and senior forward Johnny Roisum (2-2-4). St. Thomas has allowed just 11 goals over six games. Sophomore goaltenders Benjamin Myers (1.96 goals against, .937 save percentage) and Devin Tappenden (1.52, .930) have split time in goal this season.

The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point – the defending NCAA Division III champion - plays in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and is currently 6-1-1 overall on the season.

Senior forward Jacob Barber leads the Pointers in scoring with seven goals and five assists in eight games, followed by senior forward Lawrence Cornellier (4-6-10), senior forward Eliot Grauer (3-7-10) and sophomore defenseman Stephan Beauvais (3-6-9). In goal, sophomore Jesse Gordichuk (2.71, .875) and junior Max Milosek (2.46, .859) have shared time between the pipes for the Pointers.

OUSTING OMAHA: The U.S. National Under-17 Team remains on the road the next two weekends, beginning on Saturday at 8:05 p.m. ET with a USHL matchup with Omaha. 

Omaha currently sits seventh in the USHL's Western Conference with a record of 7-9-1.

The Lancers are led offensively by forwards Pierce Crawford (7-4-11) and Brannon McManus (6-5-1). 

Peter Thome and Jacob Acton have split time in net. Thome leads the goaltenders in wins (6) and save-percentage (.877). 

The U17s last matchup with the Lancers came on Friday, Oct. 21 at USA Hockey Arena. The Lancers defeated Team USA 4-1 behind a pair of goals by Filip Suchy, who was playing in his first USHL game. Jacob Goldowski tallied for the U17s in that matchup. 

STOPPING THE STAMPEDE: The U17s continue their trip west with a matchup on Sunday with Sioux Falls. This marks the first of three matchups between the Under-17 Team and Stampede this season. 

Sioux Falls currently sits in eighth position in the USHL's Western Conference Standings with a record of 5-9-0-1. 

Forward Austin Albrecht (4-13-17) currently sits 14th in scoring in the USHL and is the Stampede's leading scorer. Jack Doremus and Jason O'Neil are tied for the team lead in goals scored (7). 

Kasper Kotkansalo leads the Sioux Falls defense with a +6 rating and two points (0-2-2) in 11 games played.

Mikhail Berdin and Jeremy Swayman have split time for the Stampede in net this season. Berdin leads the pair in wins (3) and save-percentage (.905).

CENTRAL SCOUTING UPDATE: The following U18s were listed in the latest National Hockey League Central Scouting’s “Players to Watch” List in preparation for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft: A Rating – Grant Mismash; B Rating – David Farrance, Max Gildon, Tyler Inamoto, Nate Knoepke, Tommy Miller, Josh Norris and Scott Reedy; C Rating – Evan Barratt, Logan Cockerill, Randy Hernandez, Logan Hutsko, Phil Kemp, Graham Slaggert and Jacob Tortora.

Because of their birth dates, Brady Tkachuk (9/16/99 DOB) and Quinn Hughes (10/14/99) are eligible for the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

TEDDY BEAR TOSS COMING DECEMBER 3: The NTDP and USA Hockey Arena are partnering with the Plymouth Community United Way and Orin Jewelers for this season’s annual Teddy Bear Toss when the U18s host the first place Chicago Steel at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 3 at USA Hockey Arena.

Bring a new stuffed animal to the game (or purchase one at the game), and throw it on the ice after Team USA scores its first goal. All stuffed animals and donations will benefit the Plymouth Community United Way.

Fans bringing a stuffed animal to the game or purchasing one at USA Hockey Arena receive an opportunity to win a Party Suite for 20 with a $100 food credit for the suite at a future NTDP game during the 2016-17 regular season.

Fans should be ready to throw their animal on the ice early on Dec. 3. Last season Dec. 5, 2015, U18 forward Trent Frederic (now with the University of Wisconsin) scored a shorthanded goal at 2:32 of the first period in Team USA’s 7-4 victory against the Sioux City Musketeers.

WOMEN'S WORLD HOCKEY COMING TO USA HOCKEY ARENA ON DECEMBER 17: The Team USA Winter Champions Series comes to USA Hockey Arena at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 17, when the U.S. Women’s National Team hosts the Canadian Women’s National Team. Tickets are available at the USA Hockey Arena box office or by calling (734) 453-6400.

The Team USA Winter Champions Series serves as a precursor to the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship, to be held at USA Hockey Arena from April 1-8.
