The U.S. National Under-17 Team fell in their Saturday night matchup with the Des Moines Buccaneers at USA Hockey Arena, 3-0. With the loss, the U17s fall to 3-6-0 overall and 0-5-0 in United States Hockey League play.
The Buccaneers capitalized power play opportunities in the first and third period to fuel their victory.
Des Moines goaltender Jan Ruzicka made 28 saves in his shutout performance.
Team USA outshot the Buccaneers 28-24 and Bode Wilde (Birmingham, Mich.) lead the teams with four shots.
Team USA goaltender Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) made 21 saves on the evening. His record on the season now stands at 2-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in USHL play.
The U17s will travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota next week for a pair of matchups with the Minnesota Elite League on Saturday, Oct. 15 (12:15 p.m. ET) and Sunday, Oct. 16 (12:15 p.m. ET). They return home the following Friday, Oct. 21 to take on the Omaha Lancers at USA Hockey Arena at 7 p.m. ET.
