PLYMOUTH, Mich. - The U.S. National Under-17 Team earned a point in the standings as it fell, 1-0, here in overtime to the Bloomington Thunder at USA Hockey Arena.

The scoreless first frame saw the Under-17 Team outshoot Bloomington, 9-8. Grant Mismash (Edina, Minn.) nearly broke the tie midway through the period when he rang a shot off the crossbar, but the puck caromed out and the opening stanza ended, 0-0.

The third period would not solve the scoreless tie and Team USA and the Thunder went into an extra session. Bloomington scored with just over three minutes remaining to earn the victory.

Scheel mades 27 total saves in the loss for the Under-17 Team, while Bloomington's Lavigne kept all 24 USA shots out of the net in the win.
