NTDP Releases Second Wave of 2015-16 Commitments

Six Forwards, Two Defensemen and Two Goaltenders Latest Added

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Forwards Evan Barratt (Bristol, Pa.), Joseph Cassetti (Pleasanton, Calif.), Randy Hernandez (Miami, Fla.), Logan Hutsko (Morristown, N.J.), Josh Norris (Oxford, Mich.) and Graham Slaggert (South Bend, Ind.); defensemen Tyler Inamoto (Barrington, Ill.) and Philip Kemp (Greenwich, Conn.); and goaltenders Adam Scheel (Lakewood, Ohio) and Dylan St. Cyr (Northville, Mich.) will join USA Hockey's National Team Development Program for the 2015-16 season. The players, all from the 1999 birth year, will compete as members of the U.S. National Under-17 Team.

Barratt scored 24 goals and added 39 assists for 63 points in 21 regular-season games for Team Comcast (Pa.) 16U of the AYHL and U.S. Premier Hockey League. His point total ranked second on the team while helping the squad reach the Toyota/USA Hockey Youth Tier I 16U National Championships.

Cassetti skated as a member of the Oakland (Mich.) Junior Grizzlies midget minor program of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League, racking up 12 goals and 15 assists in 65 games played.

Hernandez scored 53 goals and added 40 assists for 93 points in 54 games played for the Florida Alliance midget minor program.

Hutsko led the Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) U16 team in assists (68) and points (90) in 55 games, helping that squad capture the Toyota/USA Hockey Youth Tier I 16U National Championships title. He is committed to Penn State University.

Norris collected 28 points, including 10 goals and 18 assists, in 21 outings as a member of the Oakland (Mich.) Junior Grizzlies midget minor program. Norris is committed to play college hockey at the University of Michigan.

Slaggert was second on the Chicago Mission midget minor squad in scoring with 18 points (9-9) in 26 contests. The University of Notre Dame recruit also helped lead the Mission to an appearance in the Toyota/USA Hockey Youth Tier I National Championships.

Inamoto ranked second among defensemen for the Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) U16 team in points with 23 (2-21) in 49 outings. A commit of the University of Wisconsin, he helped Shattuck take home the tournament championship at the Toyota/USA Hockey Youth Tier I 16U National Championships.

Kemp skated for Brunswick School (Conn.) this winter, where he compiled 16 points (4-12) in 32 games. He is committed to Brown University.

Scheel posted an 11-4-4 (W-L-OTL) record with a .935 save-percentage and 1.86 goals-against average for the Cleveland Barons midget minor program of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. 

St. Cyr led the High Performance Hockey League with 16 wins while registering a 2.05 goals-against average and .899 save-percentage for the Detroit Honeybaked midget minor program. St. Cyr helped Honeybaked to a runner-up finish at the Toyota/USA Hockey Youth Tier I 16U National Championships.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team will play in the United States Hockey League, the top junior league in the United States. It will also compete in three international tournaments, including the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, 2015 Four Nations Tournament and 2016 Five Nations Tournament ... Graham Slaggert's father, Andy, is the associate head coach at the University of Notre Dame ... Josh Norris' father, Dwayne, was a four-year standout at Michigan State University, where he played with current U.S. National Under-17 Team head coach Danton Cole, and enjoyed a 15-year professional hockey career ... Dylan St. Cyr's father, Gerry, played five seasons of professional hockey. St. Cyr's mother, Manon Rheaume, played goaltender for Canada at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games and in several world championships. She was also the first woman to appear in the National Hockey League pre-season game when she skated for the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1992 ... Slaggert and Sean Dhooghe were teammates on the Chicago Mission midget minor team ... St. Cyr and Michael Pastujov played together for Detroit Honeybaked midget minor ... Logan Hutsko and Tyler Inamoto were teammates on the Shattuck-St. Mary's 16U squad ... Joseph Cassetti and Josh Norris skated on the same Oakland Junior Grizzlies midget minor team.
