FARGO, N.D. - Ryan Lindgren (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Luke Martin (St. Louis, Mo.) each scored one goal and added one assist as the U.S. National Under-17 Team's comeback bid fell just short, dropping a 4-3 shootout decision to the Fargo Force here tonight at Scheels Arena. Fargo took last night's game, 3-2, to sweep the weekend series.

Lindgren opened the scoring on the power play, sending the puck past Force netminder Mathias Israelsson at 6:35. Martin and William Lockwood (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) earned assists on the go-ahead goal. The Force took control of the contest behind back-to-back goals at 12:12 and 16:42.

Fargo pushed their lead to two goals at 5:32 of the middle frame. The U.S. tested Israelsson nine times but couldn't hit the back of the net and entered the third down 3-1.

Joey Anderson (Roseville, Minn.) struck at 5:06 of the third period on the power play. Patrick Khodorenko (Walnut Creek, Calif.) and Lindgren registered helpers on the play. Martin notched the game-tying goal at 12:25 with Graham McPhee (Bethesda, Md.) and Khodorenko earning assists.

A scoreless overtime led to a shootout that the Force took 2-0 to earn the extra point.

Jake Oettinger (Lakeville, Minn.) made 30 saves for the U.S. in the shootout setback.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team continue on the road next weekend against Dubuque (March 20) and Bloomington (March 21). Both games will be streamed live on FASTHockey.com.
