GREEN BAY, Wis. - Chad Krys (Ridgefield, Conn.) scored one goal but the U.S. National Under-18 Team fell to the Green Bay Gamblers, 3-1, here tonight at the Resch Center. Team USA previously defeated the Gamblers, 5-2, on Friday night.
The U.S. notched the game's first goal at 9:23 of the first frame. Krys tallied the power-play marker to give Team USA the 1-0 lead. Auston Matthews (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Matthew Tkachuk (St. Louis, Mo.) collected assists on the play. Green Bay tied the contest with just two seconds remaining on the clock.
The Gamblers seized the lead, 2-1, while skating with the man advantage in the second stanza and secured the victory with an empty netter late in the third.
Michael Lackey (Washington, D.C.) made the start in goal for Team USA and stopped 12 shots total.
Team USA outshot Green Bay, 33-15 ... The U.S. converted on one of three attempts on the power play while the Gamblers went 1-4.
