Team USA Will Look to Regroup Thursday Versus Finland.

DMITROV, Russia - The U.S. National Under-17 Team outshot Russia, but ultimately fell, 6-0, to the host country here tonight at Dmitrov Arena. With the setback, Team USA’s record dropped to 1-1 at the 2015 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament.

Russia tallied the game’s first goal on the power play, centering a pass for the tip-in at 8:36 of the opening frame. Team USA had killed off nearly four minutes of a major penalty before the score. The U.S. found itself down, 2-0, after Russia knocked a rebound into the cage at 2:01, moments after time expired on a United States power play.

Two additional power-play strikes by the Russians in the second stanza doubled the deficit for Team USA, who trailed 4-0 heading into the third period.

Russia added two markers and held the United States to five shots in the final frame to claim the victory.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team continues tournament play tomorrow (Feb. 5) against Finland. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET.
