PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Troy Terry (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Casey Fitzgerald (North Reading, Mass.) and Jeremy Bracco (Freeport, N.Y.) scored once each and goaltender Michael Lackey (Washington, D.C.) turned aside 33 shots as the U.S. National Under-18 Team skated to a 3-3 tie with No. 5-ranked Providence College at Schneider Arena tonight.

The Friars struck twice in the final 10:33 of the opening frame to build a 2-0 advantage after one period. Ross Mauermann first connected on a wraparound to make it 1-0, before Brian Pinho knocked a loose puck in from the doorstep with six seconds remaining in the frame.

Goals by Terry and Fitzgerald in the middle period helped Team USA knot the score, 2-2, by the second intermission. Terry's goal came off a quick rush by the U.S. after Brendan Warren (Carleton, Mich.) chipped a puck up the wall to Christian Fischer (Wayne, Ill.). Fischer skated low in the zone and fired a cross-crease pass to Terry, who knocked the puck into the top corner of the net. Then, with 1:32 left in the frame, Fitzgerald picked a corner from the right circle to tie the game. Tage Thompson (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and Luke Kunin (Chesterfield, Mo.) earned assists on the play.

Bracco netted a power-play marker at 9:58 of the third stanza to give Team USA a brief 3-2 lead. Auston Matthews (Scottsdale, Ariz.) worked the puck across the zone to Bracco in the right circle, and Bracco beat Providence goaltender Nick Ellis' glove with a quick wrist shot. Matthew Tkachuk (St. Louis, Mo.) collected the secondary helper.

The Friars tied the score at 12:44 of the third. Neither team scored in the overtime frame.

The U.S. National Under-18 Team concludes its two-game collegiate swing this weekend when they face No. 13-ranked Boston University on Saturday (Oct. 18). Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET at Agganis Arena.
