U18s Drop Saturday Contest to Trine, 2-0

U18s return home next Sunday (Jan. 18) against Green Bay

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - The U.S. National Under-18 Team fell, 2-0, tonight against Trine University inside USA Hockey Arena.

Trine broke through first as it tallied on a breakaway, shorthanded, at 9:15 of the opening period for the lone goal of the first. 

The Thunder increased its lead to a pair early in the middle frame at 1:14. Jamie Glance (Stratham, N.H.) had a good look on net as he broke out for a breakaway shorthanded but was gloved at 6:52 of the second.

Highlights

Team USA wasn't without good opportunities, as Casey Mutryn (Norwell, Mass.) nearly found twine off a deflected pass from Parker Trottier (Edina, Minn.) at 18:39 but was ultimately turned aside.

The U.S. pulled its goaltender for one final push but Trine held on to win, 2-0.

Luke Carrithers (Maple Grove, Minn.) stopped 16 shots in net.

The U18s return to the ice next Sunday (Jan. 18) as it'll host the Green Bay Gamblers at USA Hockey Arena. Puck drop is set for 4:00 p.m. ET and tickets are available at USAHockeyNTDP.com/tix or by calling the box office at 734-453-8400. Fans can expect a T-shirt giveaway and a mini NTDP post giveaway. Fans can also score two tickets for $30.

Prior to that, the 2026 Chipotle All-American Game is set to take place inside USA Hockey Arena Thursday (Jan. 15) which will feature the U.S. National Under-18 Team and the top draft-eligible prospects from the USHL.
