Sioux City jumped on Team USA early on, scoring three goals in the first period within the first six minutes to go up 3-0.

The U17s responded quickly after on an excellent solo play by Pelosi. While shorthanded, Pelosi stole the puck out of the corner while on the forecheck from three Musketeer players. Walking out alone, he roofied it over the goaltender's shoulders to cut the lead to two.

Before the end of the first, Kane Barch (Plano, Texas) sniped a power play goal to get the U.S. right back in the game. Off the faceoff, Freddie Schneider (Edina, Minn.) won the draw back to Barch, who took a step in and blasted the puck into the back of the net to make it 3-2 heading into the second period.

Sioux City took over the momentum once again in the middle frame. Luke Garry scored 1:34 into the period on the power play and Pavel Martinu capitalized on a penalty shot to make it a 5-2 game.

Lenny Giger made it 6-2 for the Musketeers with three minutes remaining in the period.

Similar to the first period, Team USA scored with just seconds remaining on the clock to put the score at 6-3 before the third period. Pelosi on the power play, stole the puck from the Muskeeter defender, and beat the goalie glove side for his second of the game.

Gavin Gerry tacked on one more for Sioux City, to make it 7-3.

Carter Meyer was able to put one home on the power play for his 13th of the year which made the final score, 7-4.
