USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program enters play this weekend with a 15-26-5-2 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record after the Under-18 Team split their weekend games and the Under-17 Team fell in their only contest. On Friday night, the U18s hosted the Lincoln and beat the Stars (W, 5-4, Dec. 5). On Saturday night, the U18s dropped in a shootout to the Phantoms in Youngstown (L, 1-0, Dec. 6), and the U17s fell to the Lincoln Stars at USA Hockey Arena (L, 4-1, Dec. 6).
The U18s are on the road this weekend as they travel out east for a pair of Kroger College Series matchups to face-off against the St. Lawrence Saints on Friday night (Dec. 12) at 6:00 p.m. ET. The following night (Saturday, Jan. 27), the U18s take on Clarkson University at 2:00 p.m. ET.
The U17s travel to Vierumaki, Finland for the U17 Vierumaki Cup. The team plays against the home country Finland Wednesday morning (11:30 a.m. ET.), followed by a morning matchup with Switzerland the following day (11:30 a.m. ET.).
This year's competing teams are Czechia, Finland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden and the United States.
