PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Behind two goals and an assist from Jamie Glance (Stratham, N.H.), the U.S. National Under-18 Team rallied from a three-goal deficit and scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Lincoln Stars, 5-4, tonight inside USA Hockey Arena.

Team USA nearly lit the lamp minutes into the game as Nolan Fitzhenry (Andover, Minn.) fed Casey Mutryn (Norwell, Mass.) in front but was turned aside. Ultimately, it was the Stars who got on the board force off a faceoff at 4:48.

The Stars added two more to the scoreboard before the midway mark of the period, with a tally at 8:15 and another at 9:22 to go up a trio. The U.S. nearly broke through, but headed into the locker room down, 3-0.

Mikey Berchild (Minnetonka, Minn.) broke through for Team USA and added on a power play tally at 4:02 of the second period. A quick stick from Logan Lutner (Maple Grove, Minn.) put the puck on the blade of Sammy Nelson (Maple Grove, Minn.). Nelson sped towards the crease and put one on starting Lincoln netminder Charles Menard who made the initial save, but Berchild raced in and cleaned up the rebound.

Team USA once again had a special teams tally, however, this time shorthanded off the tape of Glance. A poke check fro Logan Stuart (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) gave Glance open ice to work with and put one past Menard at 16:30 to make it a one-goal game.

Victor Plante (Hermantown, Minn.) evened things up 1:40 later on the power play to erase the three-goal deficit. Glance found the stat sheet once again after he carried the puck into the zone by himself and found an open Plante who found twine.

Parker Trottier (Edina, Minn) gave the U.S. its first lead of the game at 11:22 of the third. Trottier picked the pocket of a rushing Star's player and pushed the puck up into the zone and sent it past goaltender Will Prowse who came in for Menard at the start of the period.

Lincoln made it an even game 1:25 later on the power player, however, Glance netted his second of the game at 13:36 to regain the lead. Plante sent one wide and it was picked up by Stuart behind the net. Glance snuck to the far side of the crease as Stuart found him with an open crease to take back the lead.

The Stars emptied its net with a tick over a minute to play, but Team USA held on to complete the comeback and win, 5-4.

Brady Knowling (Chicago, Ill.) turned aside 21 shots in the win.
