Muskegon opened the period with a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes, scored by Rudolfs Berzkalns and Melvin Novotny.

Brock Fairbanks and Tynan Lawrence added two more for the Lumberjacks, giving Muskegon a 4–0 lead heading into the second period.

Peyton Schneider added one more for Muskegon in the second period to make it 5-0.

Team USA didn’t go quietly. With two minutes left in the period, Nolan Fitzhenry's shot rang off the post and kicked out to Diego Gutierrez (Flower Mound, Texas), who quickly fed Brayden Willis. Willis buried the shot past the Muskegon goaltender for his 13th of the year.

The Under-17 team kept it going in the third. Christian Semetsis (Smithtown, N.Y.) took a hit to make a play, beating the Muskegon player to the puck. He got the pass up to Freddie Schneider (Edina, Minn.) who drove wide, then hit a wide-open Fitzhenry in the slot who put it past Will Keane to make it 5-2.

Right off the face-off, just four minutes later Broden McArthur got his second of the year. Carter Meyer (Winchester, Mass.) won the draw back to McArthur at the point, who put a quick shot in the back of the net.

Niles Benson stopped the run, scoring for the Lumberjacks.

Jake Boguniecki scored late for the U.S. but they fell to Muskegon, 6-4.

Nate Chizik (Warrington, Pa.) started and stopped 22 in net.
