U17s Fall to the Lumberjacks, 6-0

MUSKEGON, Mich. - The U.S. National Under-17 Team fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks, 6-0, Saturday night at Trinity Health Arena.

Rudolfs Berzkalns opened the scoring for Muskegon in the first period, giving the Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead heading into the middle frame.

Berzkalns struck again just 2:38 into the second period before teammate Niles Benson extended the lead to 3-0 early in the third.

Berzkalns completed the hat trick midway through the final period, Benson added his second of the night and Muskegon added a late goal to take the game, 6-0.

Eli Winters turned aside 41 shots for Team USA.

The U17s are back at USA Hockey Arena next Thursday, Oct. 16,  as it hosts the Green Bay Gamblers. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and tickets are available at USAHockeyNTDP.com/tix or by calling the box office at 734-453-8400.
