PLYMOUTH, Mich. - USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program is set to take part in the CHL-USA Prospects Challenge for the second year in-a-row, set for Calgary and Lethbridge, Alberta.
Calgary, Alberta, will open up the two-game series Tuesday, Nov., 25, followed by Lethbridge on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
First introduced in 2024, the CHL-USA Prospects Challenge is a two-game series that features players from the National Team Development Program (NTDP) facing off against top first-year NHL Draft-eligible prospects from the Canadian Hockey League’s three member leagues – the Western Hockey League (WHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
At the 2025 NHL Draft, 14 players who were part of the NTDP roster during the inaugural event in Ontario heard their names called.
ABOUT THE NTDP: USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program is a two-year residency program for high-performance players that is located at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. The goal of the full-time development program is to prepare student-athletes under the age of 18 for participation on U.S. National Teams and success in their future hockey careers. Its efforts focus not only on high-caliber participation on the ice, but creating well-rounded individuals off the ice.
ABOUT THE CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUE: The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) includes 51 Canadian and nine American teams participating in the Western Hockey League (WHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
