Fourteen NTDP Players Named to NHL Central Scouting's Final Draft Rankings

Moore, Murtagh and McKinney lead way; Eleven NTDP Alumni Ranked

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Fourteen draft-eligible members of the 2024-25 U.S. National Under-18 Team and 11 NTDP alumni were named to the National Hockey League Central Scouting’s Final Rankings ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft.

The draft is set for June 27-28 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Calif.

Will Moore (Ithaca, N.Y.) was the highest-rated of the three Team USA skaters projected as first-round draft picks, ranked 29th overall. Jack Murtagh (East Greenbush, N.Y.) followed right behind at 30th among all the eligible North American skaters. Rounding out the group was Cole McKinney (Lake Forest, Ill.) earning the 32nd ranking.

Four NTDP alums were also projected to be selected in the first round by the rankings. Boston College forward James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y., 2022-24) came in as the second-highest ranked center of the class at third overall, while University of Wisconsin defenseman Logan Hensler (Woodbury, Minn., 2022-24) slotted in at 12th overall. Rated at 22nd and 24th overall, respectively, was Arizona State University forward Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn., 2023-24) and University of Michigan forward Will Horcoff (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.).

The U18s had three skaters predicted as second-round picks in the next 32 selections, beginning with Carter Amico (Westbrook, Maine) at 41st overall. Following back-to-back, at 45th and 46th, is Conrad Fondrk (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Charlie Trethewey (Woodbine, Md.), respectively.

Maceo Phillips (Wayzata, Minn) found his name at 61st overall, while Andrew O’Neill (Fargo, N.D.) ranked in at 81st overall. Completing the potential third round selections was Asher Barnett (Wilmette, Ill.), ranked 96th overall.

Finalizing the list of current NTDP skaters were Will Belle (Minnetonka, Minn.) at 117th overall, Jacob Kvasnicka (Wayzata, Minn.) at 152nd, Drew Schock IV (Green Bay, Wis.) at 182nd and LJ Mooney (West Mifflin, Pa.) rated at 206th.

Between the pipes, Patrick Quinlan (Kennett Square, Pa.) was the only ranked NTDP goalie, coming in at 18th overall out of all North American goalies.

Additional NTDP alums ranked included: Michigan State University forward Shane Vansaghi (St. Louis, Mo., 2022-24) at 33rd overall, Saginaw Spirit forward Kristian Epperson (Mequon, Wis., 2022-24) at 47th, Fargo Force defenseman Sam Laurila (Moorhead, Minn., 2022-24) at 65th and University of Michigan defenseman Dakoda Rheaume-Mullen (Northville, Mich., 2022-24) rated at 68th.

Penn State forward Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md., 2021-23) was assessed a 110th ranking and Waterloo Black Hawks forward Brendan McMorrow (Lakeville, Minn., 2022-24) rounded it out, ranked 144th overall.

Chicago Steel netminder Jack Parsons (Ithaca, N.Y., 2022-24) was ranked the 10th overall goalie, the only NTDP alum from the North American list.

Current Team USA forward Landon Hafele (Fairbanks, Alaska), defenseman Lincoln Kuehne (West Fargo, N.D.), and goaltender Harrison Boettiger (Wheat Ridge, Colo.) are not age-eligible for the 2025 NHL draft.
