GREEN BAY, Wis. - Three different players scored goals while Harrison Boettiger (Wheat Ridge, Colo.) made 26 saves to earn the win between the pipes as the U.S. National Under-18 Team posted a 3-1 over the Green Bay Gamblers. The win marked four straight USHL victories for the U18s and nine wins in a row, dating back to Feb. 6.
Team USA took the lead with 19.5 seconds remaining the first. Jack Murtagh (East Greenbush, N.Y.) banged home a rebound on the power play from Jacob Kvasnicka (Wayzata, Minn.) and LJ Mooney (West Mifflin, Pa.). For Murtagh, it was his fifth power-play goal of the season to tie him for the team lead. The U18s killed off two Gambler power plays in the period.

Aidan Park converted a turnover by the U18s at 5:38 of the second to tie the game. Chaz Lentz (Cottage Grove, Minn.) converted a rebound from Jake Stuart (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) to put the U18s up 2-1 with 3:02 to go in the period.
Team USA took a penalty at the close of the second but stunned the Gamblers with a shorthanded goal by Richard Gallant (Concord, Mass.) off a nice pass from Cole McKinney (Lake Forest, Ill.) just 28 seconds into the third period to give the U18s a two-goal lead. It was Gallant’s 19th goal of the season.
It was the eighth win of the season for Boettiger between the pipes.
The U18s will face the Gamblers in a rematch tomorrow at 7:05pm ET from the Resch Center. The game will stream live on FloHockey.
