Fifteen NTDP Players Ranked on NHL Central Scouting Midseason List

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Fifteen draft-eligible players from the 2024-25 U.S. National Under-18 Team and 11 NTDP alums were named to the National Hockey League Central Scoutings' Midseason rankings ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft. The draft is set for June 27-28 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Power forward Jack Murtagh (East Greenbush, N.Y.) led Team USA's rankings, coming in at 25th among North American skaters, indicating a possible first-round selection in the draft. Also earning top billing was Will Moore (Ithaca, N.Y.), who rounded out the first-round projections at 32nd overall. 

Four NTDP alums were also given potential first-round grades: Boston College center James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y.) was the top-ranked forward in the class at 2nd overall and Logan Hensler (Woodbury, Minn.), a defenseman at the University of Wisconsin came in at 10th on the list. Arizona State forward Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn.) saw his name at 22nd and University of Michigan forward Will Horcoff (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) came in at 28th overall.

An additional six members of the current U18s were ranked in the next 30 slots, possible second-round selections. Cole McKinney (Lake Forest, Ill.) finished ranked back-to-back with Moore, coming in at the top of Round Two at 33 overall. Following closely were Charlie Trethewey (Woodbine, Md.) at 37th, Carter Amico (Westbrook, Maine) at 39, Conrad Fondrk (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was slotted at 43rd, Maceo Phillips (Wayzata, Minn.) at 49th and Andrew O'Neill (Fargo, N.D.) rounded out the second-round possibilities at 58th overall. 

Forward Will Belle (Minnetonka, Minn.) saw his name at 89th, while U18 captain Asher Barnett (Wilmette, Ill.) was seen at 92nd overall.

Jacob Kvasnicka (Wayzata, Minn.) started the potential Round 5 selections at 129th overall and Drew Schock (Green Bay, Wis.) rounded out the portion at 159th.

Finalizing the list of Team USA skaters were LJ Mooney (West Mifflin, Pa.) at 208 overall and Richard Gallant (Concord, Mass.), finishing the skaters at 218th.

Netminder Patrick Quinlan (Kennett Square, Pa.) was the only ranked U18 netminder, coming in at 28th. 

Additional NTDP alums included Michigan State forward Shane Vansaghi (St. Louis, Mo.) at 36th overall, Saginaw Spirit forward Kristian Epperson (Mequon, Wis.) at 45th, Michigan defenseman Dakoda Rheaume-Mullen (Northville, Mich.) at 57th and Fargo Force defenseman Sam Laurila (Moorhead, Minn.) at 63rd.

Waterloo Black Hawks forward Brendan McMorrow (Lakeville, Minn.) saw his name at 127th and Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md.) rounded out the skaters at 188th overall.

Chicago Steel goaltender Jack Parsons (Ithaca, N.Y.) was the 17th ranked North American goaltender, the lone NTDP alum in the cage on the list. 

Current U18 forward Landon Hafele (Fairbanks, Alaska), defenseman Lincoln Kuehne (West Fargo, N.D.) and goaltender Harrison Boettiger (Wheat Ridge, Colo.) are not age-eligible for the 2025 NHL Draft.
