ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - The U.S. National Under-17 Team got goals from Donny Bracco (Freeport, N.Y.) and Will Belle (Minnetonka, Minn.), but the U17s fell to the Green Bay Gamblers, 7-2, Friday night in Wisconsin.
The Gamblers got off to an early lead, getting scores from Charlie Russell and Julian Lutz, to take a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Bracco cut into the lead with his fourth score of the season, set up by Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Conrad Fondrk (White Bear Lake, Minn.) on the power play to make it a 2-1 game with 5:43 left in the opening period.
Green Bay went on to score the next five goals before Belle found the back of the net with under seven minutes to go in the game, set up by Potter and Bracco on the power play.
The score would stay for the 7-2 final.
The U17s continue on their road trip to Madison tomorrow night. Team USA takes on the Capitols at 8:05 p.m. ET and the game will stream live on FloHockey.TV.
