SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Kamil Bednarik (Chicago, Ill.) scored twice and assisted on the third and Caleb Heil (Victoria, Minn.) and Jack Parsons (Ithaca, N.Y.) combined for a 34-save shutout as the U.S. National Under-18 Team defeated the Augustana Vikings, 3-0, Saturday night at Midco Arena in South Dakota.

The first period looked to go without a score, but Kamil Bednarik (Chicago, Ill.) lit the lamp with less than a minute to play. From behind the net, Cole Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) chipped it out to Max Plante (Hermantown, Minn.) in front. He slid it backhand to Bednarik in front, who flipped it up and in for a 1-0 lead.

USA netminder Caleb Heil (Victoria, Minn.) turned in an impressive start to the game, turning aside all 14 Vikings shots through nearly 30 minutes of action. None were better than a sprawling left pad save on Quinn Rudrud uncontested halfway through the game.

Late in the second, the U18s found another off the blade of Eiserman. Bednarik chipped the puck into the offensive zone that Eiserman chased down, collected and fired in a wrister from the bottom of the right circle for his 45th score of the season and a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.

Team USA added a power-play goal 7:25 into the final period of regulation. Christian Humphreys (Pittsburgh, Pa.) found Logan Hensler (Woodbury, Minn.) for an initial shot from the center point. Bednarik got a stick on the shit to redirect in his second goal of the evening.

Augustana pulled its goalie late, but Jack Parsons (Ithaca, N.Y.), on in relief, cemented the team's second shutout bid of the season. Heil made 14 saves and picked up the win while Parsons finished with 20 to secure the 3-0 shutout.

Team USA dominated the special teams battle, netting a power-play score and killing all eight Augustana power plays.

The U18s return home next weekend to host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders for Military Appreciation Weekend at USA Hockey Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. ET Friday night; tickets are available at USAHockeyNTDP.com/tix
