PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Carter Amico (Westbrook, Maine) notched his first goal of the season and the U.S. National Under-17 Team outshot the Chicago Steel 31-24, but fell by a 4-3 tally here tonight inside USA Hockey Arena.

U17 forward Will Moore (Ithaca, N.Y.) put the first tally on the board just over four minutes into the game. Goaltender Joey Slavick (Westland, Mich.) made a save and punched the puck up to Jack Murtagh (East Greenbush, N.Y.) along the right-wing boards. He found Moore up the ice, who skated around a Steel defender and dipped towards the net before finishing on his forehand for an early lead.

The Steel responded with the next two goals of the period to take a short-lived advantage. Anthony Cardilli fired home charging up the left wing at 11:08 to tie the game and it was Michael Emerson, who put the visitors ahead with a similar score coming up the right wing just over six minutes later.

In the last minute of the opening frame, Moore netted his second of the period to even the score after 20 minutes. Murtagh's check along the boards freed the puck up to LJ Mooney (West Mifflin, Pa.), who fed Moore in the slot for his team-high 18th goal of the season.

The two sides traded goals in a 26-second span to open the middle frame. Amico connected on a second-chance opportunity for his first career NTDP score, set up by Richard Gallant (Concord, Mass.) and Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn.).

Shortly after, Chicago's Jordan Brisson got to the dirty area in front of the cage and banged home a rebound to even the score once more, this time at threes. Four minutes later, Thor Byfuglien put Chicago on top with a snipe from the point that got over the shoulder of Slavick to wrap the game's scoring.

Slavick finished with 27 stops in net.

The U17s are back in action next Friday (Jan. 26), while U18 team takes on the Steel tomorrow night at USA Hockey Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and tickets are available at USAHockeyNTDP.com/tix or by calling the box office at 734-453-8400.
