KEARNEY, Neb. Charlie Trethewey (Woodbine, Md.) scored his 10th goal of the season, but the U.S. National Under-17 Team fell to the Tri-City storm by a 4-1 count tonight inside the Viaero Center.

Jake Rozzi got Tri-City on the board first just past the halfway mark of the opening stanza off a pass by Trevor Connelly in front.

Box Score

Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn.) drew a tripping call with 3:28 left in the period to send the U.S. to the power play and Trethewey capitalized. Donny Bracco (Freeport, N.Y.) found him along the blue line and Trethewey whipped a wrister from the high slot, beating Cameron Korpi stick-side.

Connelly regained the lead for the Storm 1:01 into the middle frame with a power-play goal off a high sticking call, then Philippe Blais-Savoie added a third with a one-timer just over six minutes later to make it a 3-1 game heading into the final frame.

Team USA had several opportunities in the period, including two power plays, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Vladislav Lukashevich put the game on ice 8:51 into the third, scoring amid 4-on-4 hockey, bringing the final tally to 4-1.

The U17s are back at it tomorrow night inside the Viaero Center as they play a rematch against the Storm at 7:05 p.m. ET.
