MANNHEIM, Germany Cole McKinney (Lake Forest, Ill.)  and LJ Mooney (West Mifflin, Pa.) each put up three points a piece as the U.S. National Under-17 Team took down the U20 Jungadler Mannheim team, 8-1, inside SAP Arena tonight.

Asher Barnett (Wilmettte, Ill.) got things rolling with his third goal in as many games with a quick rebound score 12:43 into the game off an initial shot from Mooney. Jack Murtagh (East Greenbush, N.Y.) earned an assist as well.

Will Horcoff (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) was the next to score. Donny Bracco (Freeport, N.Y.) found McKinney along the goal line. He sent a wraparound pass to Horcoff, who potted one at the period's 14:37 mark. Horcoff made things 3-0 with a snipe from the left wing, with Barnett earning an assist. Mooney then added a fourth just 38 seconds before the period's close, going forehand-backhand off a play by Murtagh and Lincoln Kuehne (West Fargo, N.D.).

Harrison Boettiger (Wheat Ridge, Colo.) was a brick wall in the opening 20, stopping all shots he faced to keep Mannheim off the scoreboard.

Cullen Potter (Plymouth, Minn.) came out hot to start the middle frame, scoring 44 seconds in. Conrad Fondrk (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Bracco combined to set up the play as the game hit 5-0.

Nick Mähler spoiled Boettiger's shutout bid minutes later with a power-play goal, but Mooney found a quick response with his second of the night, shorthanded, with help from Fondrk and Kuehne.

McKinney made it a 7-1 game on the power play, collecting a rebound off a Potter shot from the high slot and tipping it into the net. Drew Schock (Green Bay, Wis.) collected an assist as well. Will Moore (Ithaca, N.Y.) sealed the game at 8-1 in the final 3:02 to play, as the U17s improved to 3-0-0-0 in their four-game series overseas.

The U17s play the final tilt Saturday, Dec. 16 against Bern U20 at PostFinance Arena in Bern, Switzerland. Puck drop is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
