TAMPERE, Finland - Nick Kempf (Chicago, Ill.) pitched a 22-save shutout and five different U.S. skaters scored as the U.S. National Under-18 Team blanked host Finland, 5-0, Friday afternoon at Nokia Areena in Tampere, Finland. 

Just shy of the midway mark of the game, James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y.) put Team USA on the board with an unassisted goal. The score was his second in two games at the Five Nations tournament. 

At 13:23 of the period, Teddy Stiga (Sudbury, Mass.) found the back of the net to double the U.S. lead to 2-0. He was set up by Brodie Ziemer (Hutchinson, Minn.) and Hagens. The helper gave Ziemer four points in two days to put him in the top-5 scorers of the event.

Less than a minute later, Cole Hutson (Chicago, Ill.) added his name to the scoresheet as he found pay dirt off of help from Brendan McMorrow (Lakeville, Minn.). 

After getting taken down with a hook midway through the final period, Kamil Bednarik (Chicago, Ill.) was awarded a penalty shot and converted for Team USA's second in two days to push the lead to 4-0.

Christian Humphreys (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added a goal in the game's last minute, set up by Austin Baker (White Lake, Mich.) for the game's 5-0 final.

Kempf finished his outing with 22 saves as he picked up his first shutout of the season.

With a goal and an assist, Hagens' two-point game gave him the nod for the U.S. Player of the Game. 

Team USA is in the midst of four games in four days; they return to Hameenlinna tomorrow to square up Switzerland. Puck drop is set for 10:30 a.m. ET from Pohjantahti Areena.
