PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Cole McKinney (Lake Forest, Ill.) netted one, but the U.S. National Under-17 Team fell, 6-1, to the Sioux City Musketeers in a USHL tilt on Saturday night at USA Hockey Arena.

Sioux City took a 1-0 lead 4:56 into the first after Giacomo Martino netted a backhander right in front, then Hagen Burrows added a second with a deflection with 3:04 to play in the period.

Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn.) had a chance to get the U.S. on the board with two minutes left in the first, skating up the left wing on a breakaway and firing a shot off, but Sioux City's Bjorn Bronas made the stop to keep it a 2-0 game heading into the second.

Sioux City added a third as Max Strand buried one from the high slot 2:46 into the middle frame. A power-play goal from Dylan Godbout at the period's 8:03 mark and a tally from Easton Jacobs with 6:37 in the period had the Musketeers up 5-0.

McKinney got the U.S. on the board with just 24 seconds left in the middle frame. Lincoln Kuehne (West Fargo, N.D.) picked the puck off the stick of Sioux City's Kevin Fitzgerald behind the net and found Will Moore (Ithaca, N.Y.). Moore sent a beautiful wraparound pass to McKinney, who tipped it past Bronas.

Jacobs picked up his second of the night at the 6:12 mark of the third off a turnover to wrap the game at 6-1.

Patrick Quinlan (Kennett Square, Pa.) was between the pipes for Team USA, finishing with 24 saves.

The U17s are back at USA Hockey Arena next Friday, Oct. 20 as they host the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available at USAHockeyNTDP.com/tix or by calling the box office at 734-453-8400.
