YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn.) managed a team-high four shots on net but the U.S. National Under-17 Team could not find the back of the net in a 12-0 loss to the Youngstown Phantoms Saturday night at the Covelli Centre.

The Phantoms netted their first goal just 3:36 in courtesy of Zach Morin, then doubled their lead with 5:39 left in the period as Mikey Burchill found the top left corner from the slot.

Ryan Botterill added another on the doorstep to give Youngstown a 3-0 lead heading into the second.

Box Score

Richard Gallant (Concord, Mass.) nearly got the U.S. on the board while on the power play to start the second and Jacob Kvasnicka (Plymouth, Minn.) was quick on the rebound, but Youngstown netminder Owen Bartoszkiewicz was equal to the task.

The Phantoms added a fourth 3:55 into the second as a streaking Hunter Ramos buried a one-timer right in front, then tacked on five more before the period came to a close.

Three more Phantoms goals in the final frame brought the final tally to 12-0.

Harrison Boettiger (Wheat Ridge, Colo.) saw the first half in net, turning aside 17 shots, while Joey Slavick (Westland, Mich.) finished the game, stopping 12.

The U17s are back in action next weekend at the Elite League Showcase in New Hope, Minnesota. Team USA will square off with the Elite League All Star Team for a pair of games on Saturday (Oct. 7) and Sunday (Oct. 8).
