​Identify, evaluate, educate and recruit top players from around the United States in designated age brackets

Job Title:​ Assistant Director of Player Personnel 

Department:​ National Team Development Program

Reports To:​ Director of Player Personnel

Basic Function:​ Identify, evaluate, educate and recruit top players from around the United States in designated age brackets

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Identify, evaluate, recruit, and educate players and families

• Build relationships early with families and potential players

• Build and maintain relationships with youth organizations, coaches and tournament promoters

• Manage and develop NTDP scouting list and reports for 18U, 16U, 15Only, and 14U. 

• Track progress and gather player information, contacts and background (hockey/academic/social) 

• Manage and develop scouting reports for identified players and age groups

• Cross-over scouting as assigned relating to NTDP, National Junior Team or other USAH Select Team prospects Travel / Scouting 

• Identify priority events and coordinate schedule with approval of Director of Player Personnel 

• Assign scouts to events/games in conjunction with Director of Player Personnel 

• Assist with planning and implementation of annual NTDP Tryout Camp 

• Select 15 Festival in July – Present evaluations and background information to all staff District Player Development Camps 

• Coordinate travel to selected districts as assigned

• Build new list of potential prospects for the upcoming season

• Build relationships with USA district development representatives

• Maintain database of District Player Development selection staffs 

• Present information on NTDP in seminar format to educate players and families

Qualifications

Required

• Experience scouting and evaluating hockey players

• Ability to utilize computers, including experience with Microsoft Office package

• Experience with scouting database systems (Rinknet preferred)

• Experience with public speaking

• Experience coordinating and planning travel

• U.S. citizen

Desired

• Playing or coaching experience

• Bachelor’s Degree 

Salary: Commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position which includes the full benefit package including: health, dental, 403B with match after 6 months, paid holidays, vacation, personal time, and paid sick leave.
