DUBUQUE, Iowa – Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md.) netted the lone goal for the U.S. as the U.S. National Under-17 Team fell to the Fighting Saints, 6-1, Saturday night inside Dubuque Ice Arena.

The Fighting Saints took an early lead in the game as defenseman Jayden Jubenvill finished off a one-timer from inside the faceoff circle. Dubuque's Ryan St. Louis made it two unanswered for his team after a centering pass was redirected of a U.S. stick and went across the goal line, 1:16 after the initial goal.

Box Score

The Fighting Saints piled it on in the opening minutes of the second after they took advantage of a long 5-on-3. Ryan St. Louis tallied his second from atop the faceoff dot and then completed his hat trick :16 later from the slot. A fourth goal from St. Louis and the fifth for Dubuque was added with 6:34 to play in the middle frame, this time during 4-on-4 action.

Team USA eventually broke the seal and tacked on their first of the game with 3:12 left in the second. On the power play, Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md.) picked up a loose puck in the defensive zone and took it end-to-end with speed before he finished it past Dubuque's netminder Paxton Geisel. Dubuque answered though and made it a 6-1 game with a period left to play.

Team USA attempted to rally back in the third, but a stout Dubuque defense made it difficult for the team to generate any chances, getting held to just four shots in the final frame and fell, 6-1.

Jack Parsons (Cortland, N.Y.) started in net for Team USA and stopped 21 shots.

The Under-17 Team continues play on the road next Sunday (April 2) for a sole game against the Madison Capitols with puck drop slated for 4:00 p.m. ET.
