Youngstown got on the board first, 3:37 in, after Brandon Svoboda netted his 10th of the year with a tap-in. The Phantoms grabbed one more before the end of the period as Svoboda made work of a turnover and took it himself to put Team USA's deficit to two.

The Phantoms kept up the scoring as Tomas Machu made it three unanswered with ticks under 10 minutes to play in the second. Kenta Isogai made it 4-0 in favor of the Phantoms, the eventual score after 40. after he finished off a shot from the slot.

The third period started off with a Jake Rozzi goal to make it 5-0, followed by a tally from William Whitelaw, to make it a difficult task for Team USA to try and make a comeback.

Team USA pushed hard in the third to attempt a comeback but strong defensive play from the Phantoms end minimized scoring chances for the U.S.

The U.S. broke up the shutout bid from Phantoms netminder Jacob Fowler with 5:02 left to go in the third. Kristian Epperson (Mequon, Wis.) sped across the blueline prior to a quick pass to Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md.). Cerrato made a pass behind him that fell on the tape of Logan Hensler (Woodbury, Minn.) who ripped it top shelf for his fourth goal in five games.

Carsen Musser (Sherburn, Minn.) started in net for Team USA and stopped 30 shots.

The Under-17 Team will finish out their home series tomorrow against the Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. ET.
