U18s Hit The Road for Pair of College Games; U17s Set for Home-and-Home Series

U18s set to faceoff against Minnesota and North Dakota; U17s host Muskegon before traveling for NYE game

USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program enters play this weekend with a 42-11-1-2 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record after the U18s won two of three games prior to the holiday break, along with the U17s. winning the Four Nations Tournament, going a perfect 3-0 in round-robin play after a sole pre-tournament loss. On Dec. 14, the U18s had their annual 'Kids Day' game and took down Muskegon, 7-2. The team then traveled to Iowa for a game against Cedar Rapids and Dubuque. On Dec. 16, the U18s fell to Cedar Rapids, 6-1, but rallied the following day against the Fighting Saints with a big 8-2 win. The U17s won their second international tournament this season after a 4-2 win against host Switzerland in the championship game Dec. 17. The team initially fell in their only pre-tournament game against Switzerland, 6-3, Dec. 13, but rattled off two-straight wins before the championship game. An 8-2 win over Sweden (Dec. 15), followed by a 9-1 win over Slovakia (Dec. 16) set up the championship match.

The U18s are on the road this week as they hit the road for a pair of college games in the midwest. The team first squares off against the University of Minnesota Gophers Thursday evening (Dec. 29) at 4:00 p.m. ET. Following their tilt against the Gophers, the U18s travel to North Dakota for a game against the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks Saturday evening (Dec. 31) at 5:07 p.m. The U17s do a home-and-home series this weekend against the Muskegon Lumberjacks, playing host for the opener Friday night (Dec. 30) at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by heading out west the following day (Saturday, Dec. 31) for a New Year's Eve game at Muskegon at 6:00 p.m. ET.
